Yeringberg Marsanne Roussanne

From vines planted between 1973 and 1985, this distinctive blend is shaped by the vineyard rather than the winemaker. Unusually, Marsanne and Roussanne are picked on the same day, then fermented and matured together — crushed and destemmed with a touch of skin contact.

Fermented in tank and aged for 10 months in old oak on light lees, with no new oak and no malolactic fermentation, the result is a wine of finesse and quiet authority. Lively floral aromas of jasmine, orange blossom and honeysuckle lift from the glass, layered with pear skin, ginger and quince.

The palate is deeply savoury and beautifully textured, offering a waxy intensity, fine balance and a long, driving finish. A natural partner for the table, it drinks beautifully now and will continue to evolve over the next 8–10 years.
