Woodlands Clementine Cabernet Merlot Malbec

Clementine Cabernet Blend, first released in 2015 and named after Andrew and Marie’s daughter, is a refined blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and 10% Malbec. The fruit is gravity-destemmed and meticulously hand-sorted berry by berry, followed by fermentation over 11 to 22 days to build structure and complexity. The wine is then matured for 18 months in French oak, with a modest 17% new barrels, before final blending and bottling.

Deep ruby in the glass, it opens with an expressive bouquet of sea spray, violet, mulberry and gently toasty oak. The palate is medium-bodied and composed, layering red and blue fruits with subtle floral and coastal nuances. A core of natural acidity provides freshness and length, while fine, balanced tannins lend structure and grip through the finish.

Quietly confident in style, it is approachable with air yet clearly built for the cellar, promising further complexity and refinement with time.
