Wines of Merritt Vermentino

Hand picked from a single vineyard in Boyup Brook, around 150 km west of Margaret River, this Mediterranean variety thrives in the region’s cool nights, which help deliver bright acidity and lifted aromatics.

The fruit was chilled overnight to 5C, then gently whole bunch pressed to yield fine, cloudy juice. Fermentation took place with wild yeast in tank, followed by seven months resting on fine lees to build texture and complexity. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, this wine stays true to its vineyard origins.

This is a beauty — all lemon blossom and sea spray on the nose, with a palate that’s citrusy, tangy and mouth-watering. Talc-like acidity brings precision and length, while a subtle savouriness and dry, textured finish make it wonderfully refreshing. Bright, pure and moreish to the last sip.
