Wild Duck Creek Yellow Hammer Hill

Crafted as a bold yet approachable introduction to the Wild Duck Creek style, Yellow Hammer Hill is a plush, fruit-driven red blend that overdelivers on generosity and drinkability. Made from a mix of Shiraz, Malbec and occasionally Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit is sourced from both estate and neighbouring vineyards rooted in Heathcote’s ancient red Cambrian soils.

Fermented in open vats with regular hand-plunging, the wine is gently pressed and matured for 18–22 months in seasoned French and American oak barriques to preserve fruit purity while adding depth and structure. No fining or filtration is used, allowing for maximum flavour and texture.

The result is a juicy, full-bodied wine bursting with ripe blackberries, dark cherries, plum and hints of liquorice and spice. Soft, rounded tannins and vibrant acidity make it immensely drinkable, whether enjoyed young or after a few years in the cellar. A modern Heathcote red with heart and character.
