Wild Duck Creek Springflat Shiraz Magnum 1.5L

A signature wine from Wild Duck Creek, Springflat Shiraz is a full-throttle expression of Heathcote’s intensity and power, balanced by plush texture and vibrant fruit. Sourced from low-yielding vines on the estate’s original Springflat and surrounding vineyards, the fruit is hand-harvested and sorted for optimal ripeness.

Fermentation takes place in small open fermenters with regular hand-plunging to extract colour and tannin. Following pressing, the wine is matured for 20–24 months in a mix of French and American oak barriques (typically 40–50% new), allowing the wine to build depth, polish, and its signature richness.

It bursts with aromas of blackberry, plum, dark chocolate and sweet spice, supported by notes of vanilla, earth and pepper. The palate is mouthfilling and opulent, framed by ripe tannins and balanced acidity, with a long, hedonistic finish. Immensely drinkable now with a decant, or cellar for a decade or more for added complexity.
