Wild Duck Creek Mallard Riesling

Wild Duck Creek Mallard Riesling is a thoughtfully crafted blend from two cool-climate vineyards—Spring Plains on Heathcote’s southern edge and Tooborac in the south-east—both offering extended ripening that preserves vibrant natural acidity.

Drawing primarily from the 25-year-old Tooborac vines, this release undergoes a brief skin contact pre-fermentation to enhance texture and complexity. Around 20% is fermented in new French oak puncheons, with the remainder aged in stainless steel, balancing freshness with subtle oak influence.

The wine bursts with lifted aromas of lime zest, limestone, green apple and a touch of curd. On the palate, crisp natural acidity frames vibrant pink grapefruit and kumquat flavours, culminating in a thrillingly tart, pithy finish that lingers beautifully.
