Wild Duck Creek Duck Muck

A wine of extraordinary intensity and cult status, Duck Muck is one of Wild Duck Creek’s rarest and most revered releases — a blend of Shiraz and Cabernet that rewards patience and cellaring with immense depth and complexity.

First created serendipitously in 1994 when a small amount of super-ripe Shiraz from the Original Vineyard was topped with Alan’s Cabernet Pressings, Duck Muck has since become a legend. Today, it is crafted with unwavering precision. The vineyards are meticulously tended — cane pruned, shoot and fruit thinned — to achieve perfect balance each vintage. Shiraz from the Original Vineyard includes 30% whole bunches and is fermented in small open-top vessels alongside the Cabernet.

The wine is gently basket-pressed and matured in 100% new Dominique Laurent French oak barriques for up to 27 months. The result is a wine of profound concentration, with dark, brooding fruit, layers of spice, velvety tannins and incredible length. Intensely aromatic and richly textured, Duck Muck is a bold yet elegant statement of site, season and vision — built to cellar and savour over decades.
