Utzinger White Label Pinot Noir

Hand picked from select West Tamar Valley fruit, this Pinot Noir includes 20% whole bunch to add aromatic lift and fine structure. After a cold soak to deepen colour and complexity, the wine was wild fermented and basket pressed to dryness, then matured in mostly seasoned French oak barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered under screwcap to capture purity and texture.

In the glass, it shows a medium burgundy red hue. The nose opens with ripe cherry, plum and fresh strawberry layered with gentle warm spice and hints of forest floor. Subtle oak notes sit quietly in the background, framing the fruit.

The palate begins with a soft, supple entry, supported by medium-plus acidity and youthful tannins that promise to soften beautifully with time. Medium to fuller bodied, it finishes long and savoury, with fine structure and a lovely sense of place.
