Utzinger White Label Chardonnay

Utzinger White Label Chardonnay is a finely crafted cool-climate Chardonnay sourced from the western reaches of the Tamar Valley.

Harvested at moderate ripeness, the fruit was whole-bunch pressed and naturally fermented with wild yeasts in predominantly seasoned oak. Full malolactic fermentation and nine months on full lees in barrel have added texture and complexity, while careful handling preserves freshness and site expression.

Bright yellow in colour, the nose is inviting and expressive, revealing aromas of roasted hazelnut, flinty minerality and fresh yellow stone fruits. The palate is poised and finely balanced, with a lively acid line supporting layers of citrus, orchard fruit and subtle oak influence.

Light to medium-bodied yet beautifully textured, it finishes long and persistent, with pithy citrus notes, savoury complexity and a lingering mineral edge. Elegant, restrained and quietly sophisticated, this is a Chardonnay that showcases Tasmania’s ability to produce wines of precision, texture and finesse.
