Tolpuddle Pinot Noir 2024

Following a dry winter, the 2024 season at Tolpuddle was marked by well-timed rainfall throughout spring and summer, coupled with mild, sunny conditions during ripening. These ideal conditions led to strong vine growth, even ripening, and moderate yields—a vintage widely regarded as one of the best on record.

All fruit was hand-picked and fermented using a mix of whole berries and whole bunches in open wooden and stainless steel fermenters, with gentle plunging to extract character. The wine was then aged for 10 months in French oak, one-third of which was new.

The result is a dark and brooding Pinot Noir, with aromas of black cherry, aniseed and cracked pepper. The palate is rich and concentrated, yet finely structured, with silky tannins and savoury spice adding depth and nuance. Trademark seamless acidity from the Tolpuddle Vineyard carries the wine to a long, persistent finish.
