About This Wine:

Southern Light Vineyards Seven Slopes of Rising Pinot Noir is a beautifully refined cool-climate Pinot Noir that captures the elegance and purity of the elevated slopes of the Yarra Valley.

The vineyard's high altitude and shallow, rocky soils produce a fine-boned, ethereal style with remarkable freshness and mineral definition. Three hand-picked blocks contribute to the blend, with MV6 fermented as 45% whole bunches while clones 114 and 115 are fully destemmed to balance perfume, structure and fruit purity.

Following around 12 days in open fermenters, each parcel is matured separately in French oak, 30% of which is new, before resting on lees for 12 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, the wine retains its texture, complexity and sense of place.

Pale burgundy in colour, the bouquet is beautifully perfumed with wild strawberry, rose water and red cherry, complemented by subtle notes of crushed stone, dried herbs and delicate clove spice. The palate is graceful and finely detailed, offering vibrant red fruits, silky texture and a savoury mineral thread.

Fine, wispy tannins and lively natural acidity provide precision and persistence, carrying the wine to a long, elegant finish. A sophisticated expression of Yarra Valley Pinot Noir, combining delicacy, structure and exceptional finesse.

"FINELY STRUCTURED, THERE IS VIBRANT ACIDITY AND EXCELLENT LENGTH THROUGH TO SILKY TANNINS."
96 Points, Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot

"THE PALATE IS FINE AND EXPRESSES WITH A LINEAR DIMENSION. HAS A CHALKY ACIDITY WHICH CONTRIBUTES TO THE PALATE FEEL, AND THE FRUIT BUILDS THROUGH TO A VERY LONG FINISH."
94 Points, Ray Jordan , Wine Pilot
