Sittella Avant Garde Chardonnay

Sittella Avant Garde Chardonnay is a refined single-vineyard Chardonnay that represents a new direction in winemaking, focusing on expressing the unique mesoclimate and regional character of the site.

The Avant-Garde range is crafted around purity of varietal expression and a strong sense of place. Hand-picked in the cool of the morning, the fruit is whole-bunch pressed to capture the finest juice before undergoing wild fermentation in French oak barrels, using a combination of 30% new and 70% seasoned oak. The wine then spends five months maturing in oak, with full malolactic fermentation adding richness and texture.

The result is a generous and beautifully textured Chardonnay with impressive depth and complexity. Aromas of ripe stone fruit, citrus, subtle vanilla and savoury oak lead into a rich, rounded palate with creamy mouthfeel and layers of flavour.

Balanced by freshness and structure, this is a full-flavoured Chardonnay that showcases both the character of the vineyard and the elegance of thoughtful oak maturation. A sophisticated expression with excellent texture and length.
