The heart and soul of Seppeltsfield’s fortified range, the Para Tawny Collection has been synonymous with luxurious Australian fortified wine for more than a century. Named after the river that winds through the Barossa landscape, Para Rare Tawny has a minimum average blended age of 15 years, placing it in the Australian Fortified Classification of Rare — a mature style prized for its complex aromatics, depth and remarkable length.

Crafted through the careful blending of individual vintage parcels, this Para Rare Tawny combines selected aged Tawny material, valued for its richness and complexity, with Rich Rare Apera to achieve balance and depth. Extended maturation in seasoned old oak hogsheads allows the wine to develop its distinctive character while retaining freshness and vitality.

Deep tawny in colour with vibrant amber-brown hues and an intriguing olive tinge, the bouquet is complex and continually evolves in the glass. Spiced dark fruit cake, roasted Brazil nuts and lifted dried citrus lead into a rich, brooding palate with remarkable flavour depth and bright acidity. Long and beautifully layered, it finishes with impressive persistence. Enjoy with aged Parmesan or Mimolette, or alongside panforte with figs.
