Stephen's passion for Grenache dates back to the mid-nineties. Upon his arrival in McLaren Vale, his preference for crafting medium-bodied wines led him to Grenache, sparking a love affair that continues to this day. The region's warm Mediterranean climate and proximity to the ocean make Grenache an ideal fit for McLaren Vale, perfectly complementing the local food and lifestyle.
Stephen proudly asserts that McLaren Vale Grenache ages more gracefully than Shiraz. It is well on its way to becoming the region's most recognized wine and a true reflection of its terroir.
This Grenache is carefully fermented in stainless steel with a small percentage of whole bunches, left on skins for 13 days before pressing. It is settled in tank for 16 days before being transferred to old French oak vats for malolactic fermentation and extended maturation, and finally bottled without fining.
From the first sip, the wine reveals a symphony of spices—cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, cassia—followed by spun sugar, toffee apple, and red fruits, with hints of rose oil, leaf litter, cedar, and red brick. These aromas weave and swirl enticingly. Bright red fruits dominate the palate, giving way to a delicate wave of spice and a finish laced with musk.
