About This Wine:

Praeter Truscott Block Pinot Noir is a beautifully complex single-vineyard Pinot Noir sourced from one of the oldest Pinot Noir plantings in the Adelaide Hills.

The Truscott Block sits at 550 metres above sea level in the Piccadilly sub-region, where an east to north-east aspect, silty loam soils over deep clay, and sandstone and quartz create ideal conditions for producing finely structured, aromatic Pinot Noir. The oldest vines date back to 1980, with additional plantings established in the early 1990s.

The fruit is predominantly destemmed, with 15% whole bunches retained to enhance perfume and complexity. Following 28 days on skins, the wine is basket pressed and matured in French oak hogsheads, 25% of which are new, allowing the fruit and site to remain the focus.

The bouquet is fragrant and expressive, offering aromas of wild cherry, raspberry and red plum intertwined with rose petals, baking spice and subtle forest floor notes. The palate is layered and refined, combining vibrant red fruits with savoury complexity, silky texture and finely etched tannins.

Elegant yet structured, the wine finishes long and persistent, with high-toned florals, mineral freshness and beautifully integrated oak. A sophisticated cool-climate Pinot Noir that balances depth, finesse and impressive ageing potential.
