About This Wine:

Place of Changing Winds Harcourt Marsanne Roussanne is a beautifully textured Rhône-style white that showcases the remarkable potential of the Harcourt North subregion within the Bendigo wine region.

Grown on pure sandy granite soils in a mild climate, the vineyard enjoys a long, even ripening season, allowing the fruit to achieve exceptional flavour and natural balance. The grapes are harvested fully ripe before being firmly pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in a combination of French oak barrels, concrete eggs and glass Wineglobe vessels. The wine matures on full fine lees, undergoes natural malolactic fermentation and is bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving its texture, complexity and sense of place.

Richer and more traditional than many modern Australian Marsanne styles, the wine offers expressive aromas of ripe stone fruit, citrus blossom, beeswax and wild herbs, complemented by hints of almond, honey and subtle savoury spice. The inclusion of Roussanne adds aromatic lift, freshness and elegance.

The palate is generous yet vibrant, combining layers of peach, preserved lemon and quince with a creamy texture, mineral depth and beautifully integrated acidity. Long, complex and finely balanced, it finishes with impressive persistence and the structure to reward many years of cellaring, developing even greater honeyed and savoury complexity over time.
