Piazzo Barbaresco DOCG Arge

Piazzo Barbaresco DOCG Arge is a beautifully traditional expression of 100% Nebbiolo sourced from three notable crus — Rocche Massalupo, Rizzi and Nervo — located across the hills of San Rocco Seno d’Elvio between Alba and Treiso. These sites combine to create a wine that balances elegance, structure and aromatic complexity.

Harvested in late September, the grapes are destemmed and fermented with temperature-controlled maceration in stainless steel to preserve purity and precision. The wine is then matured for at least nine months in large oak casks before further bottle ageing, allowing the tannins and savoury nuances to integrate harmoniously.

Deep ruby red with garnet reflections, the nose opens with ripe red fruit, dried violet and gentle spice. On the palate, the wine is dry, persistent and finely structured, gradually gaining depth and intensity with time in the glass. Bright acidity and refined tannins bring classic Nebbiolo tension, while the finish remains long, savoury and elegant.

Best served at or slightly below 18°C, this is a poised and expressive Barbaresco that captures both the finesse and quiet power of the region.
