About This Wine:

Patrick Sullivan Bull Swamp Chardonnay comes from one of the oldest Chardonnay sites in Gippsland, with the Bull Swamp Vineyard planted in 1982 by the Farrington family on the edge of Warragul. This cuvée is sourced from the oldest P58 clone vines, planted on a north-facing aspect with deep, rich volcanic soils at around 100 metres elevation. Full northern exposure and limited airflow produce naturally powerful and concentrated fruit.

Hand-harvested and whole-cluster crushed, the fruit was fermented in barriques, including 30% new oak, with full malolactic fermentation and regular lees stirring. The wine was then matured for 10 months in barrel, building texture and complexity while keeping the fruit at the centre.

Concentrated and driven, the palate combines rich citrus and stone fruit with a firm, creamy texture and bright acidity. A pronounced saline and mineral character adds tension, while restrained oak provides subtle depth rather than dominating. Long, taut and energetic, this is a powerful yet finely balanced Gippsland Chardonnay with impressive drive and length.
