[Mystery #18] BHNH Adelaide Hills Shiraz

Fermented in open fermenters, a portion of the wine was pressed off skins at 2 Baumé to finish ferment in new oak, whilst the remainder was pressed upon dryness. The wine was matured in a mix of new and second fill French oak barrels for 22 months prior to bottling.

Deep crimson red. Red fruits, Satsuma plum and notes of pepper and spice. A powerful, yet smooth wine shows layers of fruit framed by well integrated oak. Blackberry, sweet savoury and violet notes contribute to the subtle textured wine. A firm yet balanced tannin structure gives it an excellent persistence of flavour and great depth.
