Lobethal Road Bacchant Chardonnay

Named after a follower of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, Bacchant is a refined reserve Chardonnay from the Adelaide Hills, crafted with care from vineyard to bottle. The fruit is hand-pruned and hand-picked before being whole-bunch pressed into a combination of new and two-year-old French barriques, where wild yeast fermentation begins the wine’s journey towards complexity and texture.

Elegant yet full of energy, the nose reveals white peach, citrus and delicate floral aromas, complemented by subtle biscuit and creamy notes. The palate brings together crunchy melon and ripe stone fruit, with bright, well-balanced acidity providing freshness and precision. Gentle oak influence adds depth without overwhelming the fruit, while a taut, lively structure carries the flavours through a long, focused finish. Sophisticated yet vibrant, this is a Chardonnay that balances generous flavour with finesse and tension.
