About This Wine:

Crafted from 100% whole berry ferment, this Shiraz is matured for 14 months in a balanced mix of seasoned French (50%) and American (50%) oak before blending and bottling.

The bouquet brims with ripe black forest fruits and fragrant spice, leading to a medium-bodied palate where cedar, stewed berries, and cigar box nuances unfold. Rounded tannins and a seamless structure provide depth and elegance, while vanillin oak, mocha, and subtle tobacco notes linger on a fresh, vibrant finish. A layered and beautifully balanced expression of Shiraz.

94 points Mike Bennie WBM - Chunky, rich and ripe; a dark berry, mocha dusted, woody spice-laden red of impeccable balance for its thicker set frame. It does lavsih richness and general sense of vitality well, with appropriate to variety and region oak influence. The opulence of the wine impressive and the texture is super soft and flows long and beautifully. DIG IN WITH A SPOON!

92 points Halliday Wine Companion - Deep crimson with quite a shy aromatic profile initially, but with a little coaxing, fruit notes of blackberry, Doris plum and black cherry appear along with fruitcake, Dutch licorice, wood spice, vanilla bean, dried citrus rind, tapenade and dark chocolate. Full bodied, with a core of pure black fruit, a sheen of vanillin oak and a light grip of powdery tannin as it slowly fades.

92 points Winepilot Ken Gargett - The colour here is a deep magenta, while the nose exhibits notes of warm, dusty roads, black cherries, bay leaves, ripe plums and dark chocolate. This is a silky, finely rendered Shiraz, with a supple texture and very good length. The palate sees those bright, black cherries really come to the fore. There is a fine line of acidity running the length. This wine is an eight to ten year proposition, over which time it will surely improve further.

92 points The Real Review Huon Hooke - Deep, bright red-purple colour with a graphite, pepper and ironstone bouquet, a serious shiraz, and the palate echoes this with brightness and intensity, liberal tannins framing the finish and some attractive varietal spiciness. Good balance and drinkability as well as some ageing potential.
