Jansz Pontos Hills Vintage Cuvee

Jansz Pontos Hills Vintage Cuvée is a finely crafted Tasmanian sparkling wine made from a field blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The fruit was handpicked and assessed together to capture ideal balance and harmony at harvest, before gentle pressing and fermentation in seasoned French oak barrels with indigenous yeasts. Ten months on lees in barrel, followed by an extended 33 months ageing on yeast lees in bottle, has built remarkable texture and complexity.

Pale gold in the glass with a fine mousse and delicate bead, the nose is vibrant and layered, opening with lemon, lime and grapefruit zest alongside hints of fresh honey and sea spray. The palate is powerful yet elegantly structured, combining flavours of lemon myrtle, white peach and honeycomb with a creamy, mouth-filling texture. Extended lees ageing brings further nuance of nougat and toasted hazelnut, adding depth and sophistication to the wine’s long, refined finish.

Complex yet beautifully fresh, it pairs wonderfully with fried oyster mushrooms, seared kingfish with lemon butter green beans, or eggplant and zucchini risoni.
