Hughes & Hughes Syrah

Sourced from Brinktop in the Coal River Valley and Kinvarra in the Derwent Valley, this Syrah was harvested in late April and early May at 12.5° Baume. Predominantly whole berry with 8% whole bunch, fermented naturally and held on skins for 21 days with gentle pump-overs during peak activity. Pressed straight to oak (20% new) and matured before bottling unfined and unfiltered.

Dark fruit, choc-mocha and floral spice aromatics lead into a concentrated yet elegant palate. Fine tannins and subtle oak frame this expressive example of Australia’s classic Syrah clone, delivering both intensity and finesse.
