About This Wine:

This blend of Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, and Viognier pays homage to Henry Evans, who planted Keyneton's first vineyard of seven acres in 1853. Renowned for producing the finest wines in the southern colony, Henry's legacy was cut short in 1868 when his widow Sarah, driven by her temperance beliefs, closed the winery and uprooted all the vines. This blend commemorates the early introduction of southern French and Spanish varieties to South Australia, embodying the rich history, religious influences, and cultural heritage of the Barossa.

In the glass, it reveals a deep crimson hue with violet highlights. The bouquet is vibrant and enticing, with lifted aromas of blueberry, blackberry, mulberry, and Satsuma plum, enhanced by hints of lavender, rose petals, violets, pepper, and brown baking spices. The complex palate features a harmonious medley of blue and red fruits, accented by touches of anise and white pepper. Bright acidity, fine tannins, and exceptional length complete this elegant and historically rich wine.
