Heartland Directors Cut Shiraz

Crafted from meticulously selected Shiraz vineyards renowned for their intensity and texture, this wine showcases the best of Langhorne Creek. Vines are rigorously pruned for quality, with fruit night-harvested and crushed into small open-top fermenters. After 24 hours of cold soak, fermentation began using a Rhône isolate yeast. The wine spent 11 days on skins, with gentle pump-overs three times daily, before being matured in French and American oak hogsheads (60% new) for 14 months – carefully balanced to highlight fruit purity in this cooler vintage.

In the glass, it presents a deep indigo hue. The nose is vibrant and aromatic, with notes of white pepper, fennel, nettle, and a delicate whisper of white truffle. The palate is plush yet precise, driven by blackberry, ripe persimmon, and unfolding layers of spice that evolve gracefully in the glass.
