Ghost Rock Estate Pinot Noir

Ghost Rock Estate Pinot Noir is sourced predominantly from the La Filles, Oulton and Bonadale blocks, the same sites behind the winery’s acclaimed single vineyard releases. A complex blend of eight Pinot Noir clones from California, Dijon, Australia and New Zealand brings depth, perfume and layered structure to the final wine.

Each block and clone was harvested separately at optimal ripeness, then fermented independently with wild yeast to preserve individuality and site expression. Gentle hand plunging during fermentation and maturation in French oak, with 30% new barrels, add texture and subtle complexity while allowing the fruit to remain at the forefront.

The nose is dark and expressive, opening with ripe raspberry, plum and blackberry layered over baking spice and cracked black pepper. Beneath the fruit lies a savoury undercurrent of beetroot, gravelly minerality and a faint sea spray character that adds freshness and intrigue.

The palate is poised and finely structured, balancing ripe fruit concentration with earthy complexity and vibrant natural acidity. Elegant oak integration and fine tannins carry the wine through a long, savoury finish, delivering both immediate appeal and excellent ageing potential.
