"Gingin clone from an unirrigated vineyard. Whole-bunch pressed to 500L oak puncheons, 50% mlf in this high malic vintage, matured 9 months in barrel after blending. The acidity is the most striking element here: it feels very much countersunk into the abundant white stone fruit, and it has a distinct saline/saltiness about it. This drags the substantial fruit characters over the palate and through into the long finish. Quite something."

"Another very good chardonnay under this label. Right now, it is still very tight, but there is a powerful and intense core that will gradually reveal itself with age. "Light yellow colour, with a highly appealing bouquet of nougat, with stone-fruit, lightly-toasted nuts, and a honey and toffee note. A hint of cream and butter as well. The palate is frisky and vigorous with spine-tingling acidity, but it has the fruit flavour to balance and the whole entity works very well. A very refreshing finish. An excellent food wine."
