About This Wine:

A rare and fascinating white from La Morra, made from Nascetta, an indigenous Langa variety that was once widely planted in Piedmont before falling almost entirely out of favour. Rediscovered in recent decades, Nascetta remains exceptionally scarce, with only around 10 hectares planted worldwide. Ellena Giuseppe’s 0.5-hectare vineyard was planted in 2005 on calcareous-clayey soils at 260 metres elevation, facing west.

The grapes are harvested in the first half of September and undergo an extended cold maceration of 80–100 hours before pressing. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel at a controlled 14–16°C for around 10 days, preserving the variety’s delicate aromatics and freshness. The wine is subsequently matured on its lees in steel tanks for 6–9 months, building texture and complexity while retaining its vibrant character.

A distinctive Piedmontese white with plenty of personality, Nascetta combines freshness and aromatic detail with a satisfying lees-derived texture. A wonderful opportunity to explore one of Italy’s genuinely rare indigenous grape varieties.
