Delamere Estate Pinot Noir

Hand-harvested from blocks aged 24 to 43 years, this Pinot Noir incorporates roughly 30% whole bunches across all ferments. Fruit was gently handled in open-top fermenters with hand plunging to extract colour and build harmonious tannin structure. Fermentation began naturally and finished with cultured yeast, before pressing after two to three weeks. The wine then matured for nine months in Burgundian-coopered oak (30% new) prior to bottling.

This year’s Estate Pinot shows a bright brick-red hue with brilliant clarity. The nose is generous, offering red currant and hints of richer blue fruits characteristic of a warmer season, layered with savoury spice, delicate oak, and a whisper of earthy forest floor. The palate is classically Delamere, framed by finely structured, savoury tannins and lifted pomegranate acidity. The balance of fruit weight and vibrancy suggests a wine that, with careful cellaring, will evolve into one of the estate’s truly great vintages — richly rewarding and worthy of the wait.
