Clonakilla Ceoltoiri GSM

Pronounced “keel-toy-ree”, Ceoltóirí is the Irish word for a band of musicians, an apt name for this expressive Rhône-inspired blend from Clonakilla. Inspired by founder John Kirk’s love of the wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, it brings together six varieties traditionally associated with the Southern Rhône: Grenache (55%), Mourvèdre (26%), Shiraz (7%), Counoise (6%), Cinsault (4%) and Roussanne (2%). Grenache leads with its fragrant red-fruit character, while the supporting varieties add layers of savoury complexity, spice and structure.

The fruit is destemmed without crushing, preserving plenty of whole berries during fermentation. After an average of two weeks on skins, with hand-plunging twice daily, the wine is transferred to older French oak puncheons for 12 months of maturation. The result is a vibrant, beautifully layered red, combining bright red fruits and delicate spice with savoury depth and fine tannins. Fragrant and wonderfully versatile, it captures the charm and freshness of Grenache alongside the complexity of a classic Southern Rhône blend.
