About This Wine:

Crafted by fourth-generation vintner Laura Catena and chief winemaker Alejandro Vigil, Catena wines are the result of decades of exploration across Mendoza’s high-altitude mountain vineyards. Carefully selected parcels from the family’s estate sites—each offering distinct character and elevation—are blended to create a wine of natural balance, varietal purity, and impressive aging potential.

This Malbec undergoes an extended cold maceration for five days to enhance aromatics, followed by a wild yeast fermentation and 19–22 days of total maceration. It is then aged for 11–13 months in a mix of first, second, and third-use French oak barrels, tailored by vineyard and vintage.

The nose is rich and inviting, led by juicy blackberry and ripe cherry aromas, layered with notes of coffee, tobacco, and a touch of black pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet poised, with generous dark fruit, silky texture, and fine-grained tannins that carry through to a long, elegant finish. A beautifully composed Argentine Malbec with both power and finesse.
