By Wilimee Heathcote Sangiovese is a vibrant, modern expression of Sangiovese, crafted in a youthful "Nuovo" style that celebrates freshness, purity and drinkability.

Grown in the warm vineyards of Heathcote, the wine is made to highlight bright fruit, lively acidity and the naturally savoury character that makes Sangiovese such a versatile food wine.

The fruit is fermented as 100% whole berries with wild yeasts, gently plunged every second day over ten days to preserve freshness and aromatic lift. After pressing, the wine is transferred to seasoned oak barriques for five months of maturation before bottling. Minimal intervention is employed throughout, with no fining or stabilisation and only light filtration.

The nose is fragrant and expressive, revealing violets, warm spice and hints of orange rind. The palate is bright and juicy, bursting with red cherry and raspberry flavours supported by fine, supple tannins and vibrant natural acidity.

Fresh, energetic and beautifully balanced, the wine finishes with impressive purity and lift. Best served with a slight chill, it is an ideal partner for pizza, antipasti, cured meats and classic tomato-based Italian dishes.
