Bindi Pyrette Heathcote Shiraz

Bindi Pyrette Heathcote Shiraz is a beautifully poised expression of cool-climate Shiraz, crafted by Michael Dhillon from a superb vineyard on the Mount Camel Range in Heathcote.

The fruit is sourced from the highest block of an immaculately managed vineyard near Colbinabbin, where deep red Cambrian soils and a cooler east-facing slope produce grapes of remarkable freshness, perfume and natural balance. Harvest timing is carefully judged to preserve vibrant acidity while achieving the richness and depth that define great Heathcote Shiraz.

Fermented with indigenous yeasts in small 1,000-litre open vats and matured in French oak barrels, with just 10% new oak, the winemaking is intentionally restrained, allowing the vineyard's character to take centre stage.

The wine displays fragrant aromas of blackberry, dark plum and black cherry, layered with cracked pepper, violet, subtle spice and earthy mineral notes. The palate is medium to full-bodied yet remarkably elegant, combining vibrant dark fruit with silky tannins, lively acidity and a finely textured finish.

Rather than relying on sheer power, Pyrette emphasises fragrance, finesse and harmony, delivering a refined and authentic expression of Heathcote Shiraz with excellent balance and impressive ageing potential.
