About This Wine:

Bindi Kostas Rind Chardonnay is a beautifully refined Chardonnay from Bindi’s lower plantings, where 1988 vines grow in volcanic soils over clay. The vineyard has been carefully nurtured for decades, with a strong focus on soil health, humus and microbiological life.

The fruit is gently pressed directly to French oak, around 25% new, where it undergoes natural fermentation and spends ten months on full lees. Fresh and fragrant, the wine combines lemon and lime with white flowers, subtle oak spice, flint and a gently mealy texture. With time in the glass, more complex cashew and almond characters emerge.

The palate is vibrant and racy, with beautiful texture and grip carried by fine acidity through a long, flowing finish. A precise and ageworthy Chardonnay that should really begin to hit its stride after around seven years, then continue to develop beautifully for another decade or more.
