About This Wine:

Bindi Darshan Pinot Noir is an elegant and profoundly expressive single-vineyard Pinot Noir, created as a tribute to Bindi founder Bill Darshan Singh Dhillon. Planted in 2014, the Darshan vineyard sits on quartz-rich soils in the Macedon Ranges, producing wines defined by perfume, finesse and exceptional purity.

The west-facing site is planted at high density, including a unique "Crazy" section with over 22,000 vines per hectare across four Pinot Noir clones. This meticulous vineyard design delivers remarkable concentration while preserving the vineyard's naturally graceful character.

Matured for 15 to 17 months in French oak, with around 35% new barrels, the wine gains subtle complexity and texture without losing its delicate expression.

The bouquet is captivating, revealing fragrant red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry layered with rose petals, exotic spice and subtle forest-floor notes. The palate is silky and finely detailed, flowing effortlessly with vibrant red fruits, mineral freshness and finely woven tannins that lend precision and length.

More about elegance than power, Darshan combines ethereal perfume with a lace-like structure and remarkable persistence. Produced in tiny quantities of just 100–150 dozen each vintage, it is a beautifully refined Pinot Noir that continues to gain complexity and savoury nuance with time in bottle, standing as a fitting tribute to one of Australia's great wine pioneers.
