Bellevue Estate Basket Pressed Shiraz

Fermented in small two-tonne open fermenters, hand plunged and basket pressed, this limited-release Shiraz is made with a minimal-intervention approach, allowing the quality of the fruit to take centre stage. Maturation for 18 months in French and American oak hogsheads adds depth, texture and subtle complexity without overwhelming the wine’s natural character.

The nose is rich and inviting, with layers of velvety black fruits, ripe plum and dark chocolate, complemented by hints of spice and savoury oak. The warmth and generosity of McLaren Vale fruit is beautifully balanced by the cooling influence of afternoon sea breezes from St Vincent Gulf, bringing freshness and definition.

The palate is medium to full-bodied, offering a luxurious core of dark berries and chocolate with fine structure and impressive depth. Smooth tannins, integrated oak and vibrant fruit combine to create a wine that is powerful yet composed, with a long and satisfying finish.

A serious expression of McLaren Vale Shiraz with excellent cellaring potential, rewarding both immediate enjoyment and patience over time.
