Bass River Single Vineyard Riesling

All grapes were hand picked at perfect ripeness, with sugars at 12.5 Baume. The fruit was passively chilled overnight, then whole bunch pressed and racked off gross lees before a cool fermentation — 70% in stainless steel and 30% in seasoned puncheons. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was sulphured in place to capture its lively freshness and naturally bright acidity, then bottled without delay.

This is a vibrant, maritime-influenced cool-climate Riesling, bursting with notes of lime blossom, jasmine, citrus peel and crisp Granny Smith apple on the nose. The palate follows through with layers of citrus, subtle hints of grapefruit and mandarin, carried by a fine acid line and a gently textured, lingering finish.

Beautifully poised now, this Riesling will continue to evolve gracefully in bottle, rewarding careful cellaring with even greater depth and complexity.
