Angelica Zapata Malbec Alta

Named in honour of the Catena family’s formidable matriarch, Angélica Zapata – a passionate educator who instilled a legacy of ambition and integrity – this wine is a tribute to her enduring influence. Her son, Nicolás Catena Zapata, would go on to transform the perception of Argentine wine, placing it among the world’s finest.

Sourced from the Angélica Sur Vineyard in the southern reaches of the Uco Valley – often hailed as the Napa of Argentina – the high-altitude site delivers intense sunlight and rocky, well-drained soils. Low yields result in highly concentrated fruit with remarkable purity and naturally refined tannins.

Aged for 18 months in French oak (50% new) and bottled unfined and unfiltered, this Malbec reveals layered notes of wild berries, dark chocolate and roasted hazelnut. Silky, savoury and subtly complex, it finishes with elegance and persistence.
