Angelica Zapata Chardonnay Alta

Named in honour of the Catena family’s formidable matriarch, Angélica Zapata – a passionate educator who instilled a legacy of ambition and integrity – this wine is a tribute to her enduring influence. Her son, Nicolás Catena Zapata, would go on to transform the perception of Argentine wine, placing it among the world’s finest.

From a single high-altitude vineyard nestled at the foot of the Cordón del Plata, this wine captures the essence of Mendoza’s most elevated microclimate. Warm days and cool mountain nights allow the Chardonnay grapes to ripen with precision, preserving their natural vibrancy and structure.

Aged for 14 months in 100% French oak (40% new), the wine shines a brilliant golden hue with hints of green. The nose is rich and layered, offering citrus blossom, ripe stone fruit and a streak of flinty minerality. On the palate, it opens with a silky, sweet entry before revealing a full, textural mid-palate brimming with ripe citrus, white peach, and subtle vanilla spice. The finish is long and mouthwatering, guided by fresh acidity and a refined oak touch.
