About This Wine:

Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy Puligny-Montrachet is a superb example of classic Puligny-Montrachet, combining pristine fruit, fine texture and the crystalline mineral character for which the appellation is renowned. The Chavy family has lived in Puligny for more than 200 years, with Jean-Louis establishing his own domaine after the family estate was divided in 2005. Today, his son Paul works alongside him, bringing further precision and energy to both vineyard and cellar.

The wine is assembled from ten small parcels of 20–60-year-old vines, averaging around 50 years, situated just below the Premier Crus. Whole-bunch pressed and naturally fermented, it undergoes 11 months in barrel followed by seven months in stainless steel, with a restrained 15–20% new oak. The different parcels capture the diversity of Puligny’s soils, from heavier clay to stonier, gravelly sites.

Fresh and aromatic, the nose is lifted with citrus, white flowers, saline minerality and subtle herbal notes. The palate is pure, precise and energetic, combining crisp mineral freshness with hints of butter, brioche and delicate nuttiness. Supple oak is beautifully integrated, adding texture without obscuring the wine’s natural clarity.

Concentrated yet effortlessly balanced, this is a beautifully detailed Puligny-Montrachet with impressive length and the structure to develop gracefully in bottle, while already offering plenty of pleasure.
