About This Wine:

Lucien Le Moine Bourgogne Rouge 2023 is a high-end, limited-production Pinot Noir from the Beaune-based micro-négociant Lucien Le Moine, founded by Mounir Saouma and Rotem Brakin. Treated with Grand Cru-level precision, it is crafted with extended lees ageing, maturation in 100% new oak, and minimal intervention winemaking, resulting in a Bourgogne Rouge that consistently overdelivers for its appellation.

Sourced from small, high-quality parcels across Burgundy—often including sites in the Côte de Nuits—the 2023 vintage reflects meticulous vineyard selection following a demanding growing season. The wine spends 18–24 months on lees in new French oak (typically from the Jupilles forest), with no fining, no filtration and extremely low sulphur, building exceptional depth, texture and complexity.

In the glass, it typically shows a vibrant, deep ruby profile with layered aromas of black cherry, red berries, exotic spice and forest floor nuance. The palate is silky and medium-bodied, combining ripe fruit intensity with finely structured tannins and a savoury, mineral undertone. Despite its entry-level classification, it carries the weight, detail and ageing potential more commonly associated with village-level Burgundy and above.

Rich, structured and finely detailed, this is a Bourgogne Rouge built for both early enjoyment with decanting and rewarding cellaring, often performing well beyond expectations for its classification.
