About This Wine:

Henschke Hill of Grace Shiraz 2022 is one of Australia's most iconic and collectable wines, produced from one of the world's oldest continuously producing Shiraz vineyards in the heart of Eden Valley.

The historic Hill of Grace vineyard was first planted around 1860 by Nicolaus Stanitzki and sits opposite the historic Gnadenberg Lutheran Church, from which the wine takes its name. The vineyard is home to a remarkable collection of own-rooted vines, including the legendary "Ancestors" vines, now around 160 years old, alongside Centenarians, Survivors and Old Vines. Planted on deep alluvial soils at 400 metres above sea level, these low-yielding vines consistently produce fruit of extraordinary concentration, complexity and longevity.

The 2022 vintage is crafted entirely from Shiraz and matured for 20 months in 100% seasoned French oak hogsheads, allowing the purity and individuality of the vineyard to take centre stage.

The bouquet is captivating and intensely layered, revealing blackberry, blueberry and fresh plum intertwined with the hallmark aromas of five-spice, cracked black pepper, violets and cedar. The palate is seamless and profoundly elegant, unfolding with mulberry, dark forest fruits and star anise, supported by vibrant natural acidity and beautifully layered, velvety tannins.

Exceptionally refined, powerful and harmonious, the finish is remarkably long, displaying extraordinary depth, precision and balance. A true Australian icon, Hill of Grace is built to reward decades of careful cellaring while offering a timeless expression of one of the world's greatest single-vineyard Shiraz sites.
