Majella GPL68 Cabernet Sauvignon is a premium, small-selection Cabernet crafted from only the finest barrels of the vintage. Fermentation begins in stainless steel before finishing in new French oak hogsheads, where the wine then matures for a further 18 months. Each barrel is individually assessed by the winemaking team, with only a limited selection chosen for the final GPL68 blend.
Deep dark magenta with vivid purple hues, the nose is intensely expressive, revealing ripe blackcurrant and dark berry fruit layered with savoury spice and beautifully integrated oak. The palate is polished and impeccably balanced, combining concentrated fruit with subtle savoury complexity and seamless oak influence.
Ripe, refined tannins provide structure and length, carrying the wine through a long and composed finish. Powerful yet elegant, this is a Cabernet Sauvignon with impressive depth and ageing potential, rewarding both early enjoyment and careful cellaring.
A superb match for grilled meats, roasted lamb or slow-cooked beef dishes.
"In 1968, George Patrick Lynn, patriarch of the Lynn Family, allowed his sons, Brian and Anthony, to plant vines on the family's Coonawarra property 'Majella'. The vineyard prospered, more vines were planted, a winery was built, and Majella Wines as we now know it was established. George passed away in 1976 aged only 50, but in his memory, we are proud to present the wine, the Majella 'GPL68', as a fine example of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon". - Rated Gold, 96 points by Halliday Wine Companion.
