2012 Carlei Estate Chardonnay

Sourced from the Yarra Valley, this Chardonnay spent 14 months in French oak (50% new), with partial malolactic fermentation and occasional bâtonnage for texture and complexity.

The nose opens with preserved lemon, grilled peach, dried lily, and yellow stone fruit, layered over hints of popcorn and roasted cashew. On the palate, it delivers wafer biscuit, crème brûlée, and late-emerging honeyed tones. A vibrant line of acidity brings a lemon sorbet tang that lingers with precision and drive. Textural, layered, and full of character.
