Château Angélus 2006 is a magnificent expression of one of Bordeaux's most celebrated estates, combining the power and richness of Merlot with the aromatic finesse of Cabernet Franc. Classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé, the 2006 vintage has evolved into a wine of remarkable depth, complexity and elegance.

A blend of 62% Merlot and 38% Cabernet Franc, the growing season's slow, even ripening preserved exceptional freshness while allowing the fruit to achieve perfect maturity. The wine was matured for 18 to 22 months in 85–100% new French oak barriques, creating a seamless integration of fruit, structure and oak. While naturally reserved in its youth, the 2006 has developed beautifully with time in bottle.

The bouquet is intensely layered, offering aromas of damson plum, blackberry and black cherry intertwined with cocoa bean, black tea, sandalwood, incense and subtle grilled oak. As it opens, further notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, graphite and dried flowers emerge, adding remarkable complexity.

The palate is powerful yet impeccably balanced, with dense dark fruit framed by vibrant acidity and finely sculpted tannins. Rich, opulent textures are complemented by exceptional lift and precision, creating a wine of both concentration and freshness. Layers of dark chocolate, spice and mineral nuances unfold through the long, graceful finish.
