About This Wine:

Henschke Keyneton Euphonium is a refined and beautifully balanced red blend that celebrates the heritage, culture and musical traditions of the Henschke family and the historic village of Keyneton. Named after the treasured B-flat euphonium once played by the Henschke Family Brass Band, the wine represents a harmonious composition of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from some of South Australia's most distinguished vineyards.

A blend of 65% Shiraz, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, the fruit is sourced from mature vines up to 50 years old across the Eden and Barossa Valleys. Each variety contributes its own character, combining the elegance and perfume of Eden Valley with the richness and structure of Barossa fruit. The wine is matured for 17 months in French oak hogsheads, with 10% new oak and 90% seasoned barrels, allowing the fruit purity and regional expression to shine.

The bouquet is deep and inviting, revealing aromas of fresh plum, blackberry, mulberry and blueberry, layered with fragrant spice notes of anise, clove, mace and cracked black pepper. The palate is medium-bodied yet wonderfully complex, offering a savoury interplay of blue and black fruits, dried herbs and subtle earthy nuances.

Fresh acidity and supple, fine-grained tannins provide balance, structure and remarkable length, leading to an elegant finish of depth and refinement. A beautifully composed Australian red blend, Keyneton Euphonium showcases Henschke's mastery of blending, delivering both immediate charm and excellent cellaring potential.
