Condie The Gwen Shiraz

The Gwen is Condie’s multi-regional flagship Shiraz, sourced from three carefully selected vineyard sites in Heathcote. Named after Richie’s mother, the wine is crafted to reflect her character — elegant, stylish, nurturing and bold enough to command respect.

Built on the philosophy of complexity through diversity, The Gwen brings together three distinct terroirs. Early-picked parcels contribute natural acidity and freshness, while later harvests build tannin structure and ripe depth. A range of small-batch techniques — including whole bunch fermentation, extended maceration, natural and cultured yeasts — enhance nuance and detail. Maturation spans various oak formats, including 20% new French oak and flex cubes, adding texture without overpowering the fruit.

The result is an approachable yet full-bodied, mouth-filling Shiraz driven by dark plum, blackberry and cherry fruit. Layers of spice and fine tannins provide structure, delivering a wine with enough weight to say “I’m serious” — yet with balance and freshness that keep it delicious, never overcooked.
