Heathcote Victoria

Heathcote Victoria

Supporting Australian wineries during these unprecedented times is more important than ever. Heathcote wine region is a diverse region along side the Bendigo Wine Region just over an hours drive north of Melbourne. The area is particularly noted for the cool climate Shiraz wines it produces. Within the Heathcote region there is a huge amount of sub-regions with differing terriors and micro climates. The soil, clay and ancient Cambrian rocks add richness and diversity to the grapes like no other.

The cool climate temperature can vary between 1.8 and 1.4 degrees Celsius lower than other Victorian regions, often resulting in an extended growing season. The longer growing season means the ripening period is more spread pushing out the picking dates and subsequently providing a larger range of flavours.

Given the climate is idyllic for grapes and has similar sunlight hours to Bordeaux they also make a great addition for their cellaring potential. What more could you ask for!?
