Hughes & Hughes Chardonnay

Founded by brothers Matthew and Jonathan Hughes in 2011, Mewstone Vineyard graces the picturesque banks of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, where we passionately craft expressive single-site wines with minimal intervention in the cellar. Originally a cherry orchard, our vineyard has undergone transformation, with ongoing new plantings set to expand its footprint to a final size of 5.2 hectares. Predominantly planted with Pinot Noir, complemented by smaller blocks of Chardonnay and Riesling, our vineyard reflects our commitment to quality and terroir-driven winemaking.

This exquisite Chardonnay hails from vineyards located in the northwest and south of the state. Naturally fermented and lovingly matured in oak, it has undergone malolactic fermentation and extended lees ageing, resulting in a wine of unparalleled depth and complexity.
