One of Coonawarra’s long standing Estate’s, the Zema family having been crafting wines from their vineyards since 1982. The release was matured in small French oak barrels for a period of 15 months. Dark red core with a deep dark red hue. Pronounced ripe blackcurrant, subtle liquorice, mulberry scents with notes of lightly toasted vanillin cedar, earthy tobacco and a whiff of spicy bay leaf.
A medium bodied palate has a generous mouthfeel with ripe black currant flavours backed by mulberry, vanillin cedar, subtle earthy tobacco characters, delicate infusions of bay leaf and spice. Finely grained tannins are well integrated with the fruit.
